Why is humankind so quick to accept the paranormal as a viable solution to the many things we encounter in our lives that otherwise go unexplained? Do we have such a need to find reason in every occurrence in our lives that we are willing to accept any answer available to us, scientific proof or not? In a world of progress through the constant development of new technologies, it seems ironic that our culture has become so comfortable with the Miss Cleos and the Jane Dixons of the world. Is it fear of the unknown that calls us to believe in that which we cannot rationally understand? Or do we simply not have the capabilities to fully understand all that is within the many dimensions of the universe? Has the media pushed ghosts, poltergeists, and vampires down our throats so far that we're now convinced of their existence? Have Bruce Willis, Drew Barrymore, and Anne Rice become such cultural icons that they've convinced us of the supernatural? Or do we simply enjoy the emotion of the excitement created by these horror stories?
