Ghost Channel is a home-recorded project from Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. Pedro Ivo is the genius behind the project. He works with lo-fi electronics and recording processes that includes working with collage and found-sounds. The Ghost Channel tracks available right now are "Electrwraith" and "Dead Broadcast". They were recorded using Windows Sound Recorder. The theme in Ghost Channel's music is ghosts. Ivo is inspired (not necessarily influenced) by ghost stories, old places, dead people, dead people's photos, echoes, displaced things, and fear. Other inspiration comes from Godspeed You Black Emperor, William Burroughs and his "Ghosts", David Lynch, Third Eye Foundation, radio voices and sounds amongst static, Autechre, Twisted Science, TV channels out of air and scanner. Voices, presences, desert places, being awake when the nearest people are sleeping, waking paralyzed during the night and seeing and hearing and feeling haunted things in the presence of others and people experiencing the same and not being able to find any reasonable explanation also inspire Ghost Channel's musical creations. Ghost Channel believes in ghosts. It doesn't claim to know what ghosts are: manifestations of dead beings, simple and rough echoes of things that are no more, any other kind of mystery that can be so insubstantial and so physically violent at the same time in it's manifestations? Ghost Channel thinks ghosts are strange, extremely horrifying and amazingly intriguing phenomena. It makes relations with the phantasmagoric electricity and the invisible (like radiowaves). Ghost Channel is a project involved with the gaybrazil label.
