Resurrection: not a usual subject for the fall. But then again, when has Cyrilmagazine ever been usual? Fall is most typically marked with celebrations of the spirit of death and decay. Yet Cyril has chosen to name the Halloween 2002 issue of Cyrilmagazine, "Resurrection". I guess we could look at the pagan season of Samhain as one that celebrates a sort of resurrection. It is believed that during the fall equinox, the line between earthly things and the spritiual world is at its thinnest, making communication with the dead more possible than at other times during the year. (Then again, popular meduims such as John Edward and James Van Praagh make it appear that communication with the dead is possible at any time...especially when the camera is rolling). Now, are we talking about communication with the resurrected souls promised in so many church doctrines? Or does it confirm commnication with those souls that have denied and defied death, refusing to completely leave the physical world?

The many aspects of Cyrilmagazine, Halloween 2002 may lead you to some thoughts on these and other questions about issues beyond our physical world. Herbie Brennan, author of, "Death, The Great Mystery of Life" stimulates thought on this very subject as he discusses the mysteries of death in this issue's interview. Cyril himself is feeling a sort of resurrection after having suffered a severe illness for six weeks from the bite of a brown recluse spider. And just where did Cyril get this spider bite? In the tomb of the nation's most notorious vampire, Mercy Brown. In celebration of his resurrection, Cyril takes us on a tour of 13 spooky places he frequents. This Halloween issue also features, Paralayla, Mistress of the Paranormal. Find out how Paralayla became interested in the occult and paranormal in a Cyril Place photo-documentary. The issue is also filled with goodies such as a feature on cults, more discoveries from Vamp Doc, as well as the ever-popular Cyrilfold, poetry and music features.

Happy Samhain!
